5 September

Crime Reference Number C3/08/1353.

Stolen from a field in Hampermill Lane, Watford on 19th August. Three Shetland mares. 1) Buttercup, blue roan, black mane and tail, 5 years old. 2) Ginger, skewbald (ginger and white) dark right fore with sock, pastern to hoof, dark left fore with stocking below knee to striped hoof. Lower part of mane white. 4 years old. 3) Moon, black, no white, black hooves, 3 years old.

13 August

Following an investigation by officers from Operation Manhunt and the East Herts Burglary Team, an offender was identified in respect of Distraction Burglaries in the area. Following arrest and interview he was charged with four offences with six to be "taken into account".

12 August

Please keep your eyes open for a suspicious vehicle in the area it is a silver hatchback on an 08 plate, this vehicle was being used by a white male of large build, with short brown hair and he is wearing a noticeable amount of gold jewellery, also in the car with this male was a white female and a small child and both of these had a lot of gold jewellery on.

The male was after renting a field but while at the yard he wanted to also buy an old tractor, whilst he was there he kept having a good look around.

If you see anyone matching this description please be aware and contact us as soon as possible with a index no if you are able to get it, as this helps us stop them committing crime in the area.

12 August

On Tue 12th Aug a green Kawsaki motorbike was stolen from Rushen Drive Hertford Heath between 05.30 and 08.00 am. Persons unknown removed the bike from the rear of the property and left in an unknown direction.

11 August

Please be aware of a suspicious male, Ghanaian looking aged approx 38 years, 5'8" tall, stocky build. He was calling on residents in Oaktree Close, Hertford Heath early evening of Saturday 9th August, wanting to know whether people worked full time or part time. It is apparently for a company he is working for but he gave no name of company and had no ID. He was carrying a laptop computer and inputting details.

This male is very suspicious and if anyone sees him (or has a caller to the door asking similar questions) please call the police immediately on 08745 33 00 222.

25 July

There was an aggravated robbery in Wormley West End on the evening of Tuesday last. The police appear not to want details made public at present but the burglars made away in the householder's own car which was set alight in Back Lane, Brickendon minutes later.

7 July

POLICE are warning the public to be on the look out for EX53 BCF a white Astra van, YK52 ECZ a white Mercedes van, KU05 BXS a white Mercedes van known to be stealing calatytic converters in bulk.

27 June

Please be aware a saddle was stolen over night on Sunday 22nd June at Amwell near Stansted Abbots, this had only been at the premises since the Sat afternoon.

The saddle is a pony black Barnsby saddle, this is unmarked but has 2 bits of string attached to the girth straps.

27 June

POLICE are warning members of the public not to go near two stolen industrial vacuum cleaners which have been contaminated with asbestos.

The two yellow Numatic vacuum cleaners with reference numbers H2D572 with an identity mark B2705 and H2D570 with the identity mark B1712, were taken from a commercial premises that is undergoing demolition on the old Godfrey Davis Ford Garage site on the London Road, Welwyn Bypass, Welwyn.

The vacuum cleaners look like domestic machines and police are concerned they could be offered for sale via markets, car boot sales or other means.

Police are warning the public that if they see these machines anywhere they should not touch them. The contents of the machine could pose a serious risk to health if inhaled. Asbestos dust is extremely dangerous and the machines should not be approached by anyone who is not wearing very specific protective clothing. If anyone has any knowledge of the whereabouts of these machines, they should ring 999. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

17 June

A horse trailer was stolen from Hillside Lane, Great Amwell overnight Thursday/Friday 13th June. Offenders have gained entry by cutting the padlock to the gate of the yard.
